Gardener operating a mower near a van

Catch-up care and clearance are different starting points.

A tidy-up is useful to discuss when the lawn, hedges, weeds and fallen leaves all need attention. It should not hide a heavier starting condition: months without care, brambles and dense growth may call for an assessed clearance instead. Current photographs or a site visit help establish that difference. The garden’s size alone does not tell us how much work the visit will involve.

Put the ordinary garden tasks into one agreed visit.

We start with a short walk round with the customer where possible, agreeing priorities and plants to keep. The full maintenance tidy-up can cover mowing, edging, weeding, hedge trimming and shaping, shrub pruning, leaf clearance, and sweeping paths and patios. We bring the professional gardening tools and van, without needing a customer power socket or water connection for that equipment.

What to agree before booking.

List the catch-up tasks

Identify mowing, edges, weeds, hedge or shrub work and leaves separately. That gives the visit a clear brief rather than an undefined request to tidy everything.

Explain the access

Show the approach to the garden, particularly a narrow passage or a terraced home with no rear entrance. Tools are brought with us; access needs planning.

Finish the agreed visit

We gather the clippings, sweep paths and check the agreed work with you where possible. A further task is discussed before it goes ahead.

Your quotation details.

£65 per hour. One simple hourly rate. Minimum booking 1 hour. No VAT added. We confirm the hours before you book. Subject to assessment from photos or a visit. A routine tidy-up uses the garden-maintenance rate. List the jobs that matter most so the work can be planned around your priorities.

Extras and separate work.

A one-off tidy covers the garden-care tasks we agree with you. Heavier clearance, lawn renovation and landscaping are separate jobs. Larger tree work, climbing, stump work, rubble and hazardous waste are outside routine gardening. Planting materials are extra, and suspected asbestos needs a specialist.

Garden Tidy-Up questions.

Can a tidy-up be a one-off visit?+

Yes. Customers ask for both a regular tidy and help after a busy spell. Tell us the present condition and immediate priorities.

How is this different from overgrown clearance?+

Dense overgrowth and brambles need an assessed clearance brief, including opening enough space to work safely. Send photos so the starting work is clear.

Will I have to provide tools?+

We bring our professional tool set and van. Gardening equipment does not need your power or water supply.

Are leaf clearance and sweeping included?+

They are among the full maintenance tidy-up tasks, alongside the other priorities agreed during the appointment.

Is there a separate hourly rate for this task?+

No. £65 per hour. One simple hourly rate. Minimum booking 1 hour. No VAT added. We confirm the hours before you book. Subject to assessment from photos or a visit. A routine tidy-up uses the garden-maintenance rate.

Tell us about your garden tidy-up job.

Send photographs of the areas that need a catch-up, along with your postcode and the jobs you want tackled first.
