Gardener working beside flower beds

Separate unwanted growth from plants to keep.

Customers may want weeding as part of regular garden care or call once growth has got out of hand. Brambles and dense growth change the enquiry from a light tidy into something that needs an assessed clearance brief. Photographs or a site visit help us establish the starting condition and estimated hours. We look at the growth, the work needed and access as well as the size of the garden.

Agree the weeding before working through the garden.

Where possible, we walk round together before starting and identify the plants to keep. In an overgrown space, enough room is cleared to work safely before the agreed cutting back, weeding and other care. We bring professional gardening tools and waste bags in our van. Customer electricity and water are not needed for our gardening equipment; the route into the garden needs to be accessible.

What to agree before booking.

Identify what is unwanted

Use the first discussion or walk round to point out the growth you want addressed and the plants that must stay.

Agree the wider priorities

Weeding can sit alongside mowing, edging, hedges, shrub care and sweeping in the maintenance brief. Explain which tasks matter most for this visit.

Gather the cuttings and check

The finish includes gathered clippings, swept paths and a check of the agreed work with the customer where possible. Transport is a separate matter.

Your quotation details.

£65 per hour. One simple hourly rate. Minimum booking 1 hour. No VAT added. We confirm the hours before you book. Subject to assessment from photos or a visit. Routine weeding uses the garden-maintenance rate. Point out plants to retain and show the borders, paths and working access.

Extras and separate work.

Routine weeding does not include a chemical-treatment programme, and weeds can return. Show us ivy on a weak fence before cutting back is agreed. Rubble, hazardous waste, larger tree work and climbing are separate from routine weeding; suspected asbestos needs a specialist.

Garden Weeding questions.

Is weeding part of a maintenance visit?+

Yes. It is one of the listed maintenance inclusions, with the actual garden priorities agreed before the work.

Can I identify plants that look untidy but should stay?+

Yes. We agree plants to keep during the initial discussion or walk round where possible.

What if the garden contains dense brambles?+

Show the current growth. A heavier clearance assessment may be needed, starting with enough space to work safely.

Do you promise permanent weed removal?+

Tell us where weeds are growing and whether you want them addressed as part of a maintenance visit. We assess the work before recommending the tasks.

Is there a separate hourly rate for this task?+

No. £65 per hour. One simple hourly rate. Minimum booking 1 hour. No VAT added. We confirm the hours before you book. Subject to assessment from photos or a visit. Routine weeding uses the garden-maintenance rate.
